                                             The Mysterious House



           "Thump, thump." The lawer glanced up from her husbands birthday party to the direction of the attic. She had just bought this house. It had been on the market for 40 years, and she hoped that there wasn't a problem with it. "Thump, thump." There it was again. The lawer excused herself, and started up the stairs. She heard the noise again. She pulled down the steps that led to the attic, and tip-toed quietly up the stairs. She glanced quickly around the room, and saw something moving. She walked towards it, and noticed that it was a picture of a beautiful woman with sad eyes. The lawyer checked around the rest of the attic, but found nothing. She started to go down the stairs when suddenly, she saw the painting fall. She hurried towards it, and on the back was a note. The note read, "Only you can save yourself from the evil this house contains."
